Permanently Restore Missing Teeth
Dental Implants in Key West
Dental implants give patients suffering from tooth loss the ability to restore the function and aesthetics of their smile permanently. With dental implant treatment from Southernmost Smiles, we take care of the entire process under one roof, so you won’t have to deal with driving around town for multiple appointments if you want to replace one or multiple teeth.
How it Works
understanding dental implants
Dental implants help prevent oral health issues that are common after tooth loss, like teeth shifting and bone resorption. Implants are made of titanium, and they are placed into your gum and jaw bone to act as artificial tooth roots. Once your gums heal, a dental restoration (such as a crown or a bridge) can be attached to your implant and permanently restore your smile. If you want long-lasting, natural-looking dental restoration that requires no special care, a dental implant may be the right option for you.
The Implant Process
Single Implant Placement
- Once you’ve been approved for implant surgery, your first appointment will involve the placement of your dental implants.
- After placement, your gums and jaw will need to heal for 3-6 months to ensure that the implant bonds permanently with your jaw (this is called “osseointegration”).
- As you heal, Dr. Weber will work closely with a dental lab to build a custom restoration that will be attached to your implant to restore your smile.
- Once your mouth has healed, you’ll come in for your final appointment and your crown will be attached permanently to your dental implant.
- The entire process can take anywhere between 2-4 appointments over about 3-6 months, depending on the the specifics of your case and whether you need preparatory dental work such as an extraction, bone grafting, or sinus lift.
Know Your Options
Am I a Good Candidate for Implants?
If your jaw bone is strong, you have good overall oral health, and you would like to prevent bone loss after a tooth has fallen out, a single implant restoration may be the right option for you. To find out if you’re a good candidate, schedule a consultation with Dr. Weber.

Mini dental Implants
Mini implants are, essentially, the same as traditional implants, but are only about half the size. This makes them easier to place, and the procedure is often done only under local anesthesia without any sutures required. Dr. Weber can often place a temporary crown or other restoration on your mini implants during the same appointment, which gives patients the option to restore their smiles even faster!
